SWPU Held Opening Ceremony for International Students of Year 2019

On Nov 28^th, the Opening Ceremony for International Students of Year 2019 was held in the Academic Report Hall of the Library.

Zhao Zhengwen, Deputy Party Secretary of SWPU attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. He put forward three hopes to international students. One is to understand Chinese culture and become a messenger in the exchange of cultures between China and other countries. The second is to abide by Chinese laws, observe rules of the university, conform to social morality, respect the culture and religious belief of different countries and ethnic groups, and together build a harmonious international campus. The third is to cherish the time of studying and living at SWPU, sparing no effort to learn Chinese and enhance professionalism.

Efrat, who represents senior international students at SWPU shared his experiences as an overseas student. He encouraged fresh students to cherish time and pursue their dream of studying abroad.

Muhamad from Uzbekistan delivered a speech on behalf of all new students. He told us about China in his view and expressed his longing and love for the Chinese culture. "I will respect culture and customs in China, abide by Chinese laws, follow university rules, maintain a positive attitude towards my studies, and make my own contributions to the development of his home country and the friendship with China.

Officers from MPS Exit and Entry Chengdu Division and Xindu Pubic Securing Bureau held an information session for international students on laws and regulations regarding exit and entry administration and public safety management. Staff from Department of Student Affairs conducted the education session to the students on university discipline and rules. Staff from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the Dean’s Office and the Graduate School explained the application process for the international student card and the management rules of international student.
