On July 25, the finals of the 24^thUniversity Student Tennis Championships of China came to a close in Chongqing. After 8 days of intense competition, our university's tennis team won women's doubles runner-up in Group D, the 6^thplace in men's team in Group D, and the 7^thplace in women's doubles in Group B.

The Championships were sponsored by University Sports Federation of China and organized by Southwest University. 829 athletes from 241 teams in 115 Chinese universities participated in this event. The Championships are the largest and highest level tennis tournament for university students in China.

During the tense 8-day schedule, athletes overcame extreme heat, exposure to the sun, and adverse weather effects such as thunderstorms and strong winds, demonstrating the high technical and tactical skills and strong will of our students.

With the rapid popularization of tennis, the competition between college tennis teams has become more and more fierce in recent years. It has not been easy for our university’s tennis team to stand on the podium in the finals of University Tennis Championships of China every year. The team leader, Professor Xiang Jianfeng, said that the team would take this tournament as an opportunity to analyze our own strengths and weaknesses in depth, and that while maintaining good performance in daily training and competition in the team, they would make improvements in the training of reserve talents and strive to achieve better results in future competitions.  (provided by the School of P.E.)
