On the morning of April 1^st, a delegation of Chinese professors led by Gu Xueyu, chairman of Association of Chinese Professors in Germany and director of University of Bonn - Center for Global Studies, visited Southwest Petroleum University. SWPU principal Zhao Jinzhou met with the delegation.

Members of the delegation include Meng Liqiu, vice chairman of Association of Chinese Professors in Germany, member of German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and tenured professor of cartography at the Technical University of Munich, Hou zhengmeng, member of German Academy of Earth Sciences and Geotechnologies and professor at Technical University of Clauthal, Qu Wenmin, tenured professor at Saarland University of Applied Sciences, Song Jian, professor at Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences and director of Laboratory of Precision Mechanics, Zhang Weiqi, tenured professor at Faculty of Medicine, University of Münster and director of Laboratory for Molecular Psychiatry, and Jiang Tao, professor at University of Duisburg-Essen and president of D&C TechTrade GmbH.

During the meeting, Zhao Jinzhou briefed the development history of SWPU, its faculties, talents training, scientific researches and academic characteristics. He also expressed hope for the cooperation and communication with German universities in training and researches.

Prof. Gu Xuewu described the Association of Chinese Professors in Germany, which has 60 members in 30 universities. Gu expressed that the association will actively seek opportunities to bridge the cooperation between SWPU and German universities.

Prof. Meng Liqiu clarified technical details in the cooperation and suggested the following work for the university.

According to Prof. Hou Zhengmeng, he hoped that universities in both countries maintain close contacts which will help the cooperation bear fruit.
