On the afternoon of May 9, the university held the ceremony inaugural meeting of the Translation Research Center. Vice president Liu Xiangjun, Deputy Director of Science and Technology Department Chen Yinan, Director of the Petroleum Industry Press Chengdu Editorial Center Ma Jinhua, Chengdu Refine Translation Co., Ltd. General Manager Ma Shuai, Chengdu Seetrans Co., Ltd. representative Huang Changyou attended the meeting.

The Translation Research Center is mainly engaged in the research of translation studies, the teaching of translation, and practices in translation, promoting domestic and international academic communication and cooperation in translation, and the training of translation professionals. The Translation Research Center will also establish cooperative relationships with academic institutions, translation companies, enterprises and government clients, providing translation services for academic papers, monographs, and bidding documents. The research center will also undertake translation projects for enterprises and institutions and create translation corpora.

Liu Xiangjun expressed her congratulations on the establishment of the Translation Research Center. She hoped that the research center would play an important role in training advanced translation professionals, enhancing the teaching and research capabilities of teaching staff, and making useful explorations for promoting the discipline development and the talents training.
