The Latest Progress on Graphene Aerogel was Published

Graphene aerogel is a type of three-dimensional porous materials with good conductivity and absorbability. In recent years, it has been a hot spot to conduct research on studying of graphene aerogel in the field of environment. However, there are still a lot of huge challenges in synthesizing graphene aerogel with low density, high absorbability, strong mechanical strength and good functionalization.

Recently, on exploring functionalized modification and the mechanism of synthesizing graphene aerogel in hydrothermal, we have made a great progress. Research shows that, in the hydrothermal self-assemble process, the type of reducing agent, temperature, and reaction time play a significant role(New J. Chem.,2016, 40, 3040, selected to be cover paper); successfully further synthesize the graphene-canbon nanotube aerogel with ultra-low density, high absorbability and resilience(Environ. Sci.: Nano, 2016, 3, 107). On this foundation, graphene aerogel is selected to be the supporter and smoothly synthesized the integral megascopic aerogel photocatalytic materials. Greatly, this material does not only own good absorbability for organic dyes, but also shows excellent photodegradation properties for indoor pollutant gas NO (J. Mater. Chem. A, 2016, 4, 7823). Besides, in the process to study the mechanism of photocatalytic in gaseous phase, we have also developed the in-situ infrared characterization techniques(J. Hazard. Mater. 2016, 307, 163; ACS Catalysis. 2016, 6, 7799). Recently, based on the latest achievements in this field, we have  conducted a systemic summary for the application of graphene aerogel in the field of oil absorption and photocatalytic, and have publiced a review on Journal of Materials Chemistry A (J. Mater. Chem. A, 2016, 4, 18687).
