Recently, a new review article about recent updated progress on monolithic aerogel photocatalysts was timely reported on Journal of Materials Chemistry A. In this timely review, aerogel photocatalysts are divided into two parts including direct synthesis and grafting photocatalysts to aerogel supports according to their characteristics on synthesis. The review has discussed the recent advanced synthesis strategies and photocatalytic applications of the aerogel photocatalysts, and pointed out the current challenges as well as the research trends. This review is also a good summary of our previous works on monolithic aerogel photocatalysts.
